Mike Dunne Memorial 10k

Sunday 3rd May 2026

Event Details

On the 3rd May 2026 we are hosting our third Wythenshawe Community Run Multi-terrain 10k event around the stunning grounds of Wythenshawe Park.

The course has a running track start and finish and is two laps around the flat non-sealed paths and tracks of the park, completely traffic free, professionally chip timed and each finisher will receive a bespoke finishers medal.

The run is held in memory of our extraordinarily strong and special friend Mike Dunne, Mike was sadly diagnosed with mesothelioma cancer in late 2022 and passed away in May 2023, we now host an annual 10K in his memory and to raise funds for two very special charities that supported Mike and his family during his illness.

We are raising money for  'St Ann's Hospice' and 'Greater Manchester Asbestos Victims Support Group' and all proceeds from the run will go to the two charities! We raised £1500 for each charity last year and we are looking to raise even more this time with your support.

The run starts at the Wythenshawe Park Athletic Track with access to onsite toilets, changing rooms and ample free parking, the park is also very easy to access via public transport links with bus and tram routes passing close to the park.

So come and join us for a lovely early summer 10k in a stunning location and support two amazing local charities.

Refund Policy

Refunds

Organising a race incurs considerable costs which are met a long time before race day and so individual refunds will only ever be issued at the Race Organiser’s discretion. For a refund to be considered, full details must be emailed to us for consideration within a reasonable time frame of the event.

We do not refund any admin fees that were applied on top of the base Entry fee paid.

Cancellations

We hold the rights to amend/cancel any aspect of an event at late notice. Cancellation will only ever be a last resort for us, and we will always take direction on event cancellations from government agencies (e.g. the Met Office for weather related incidents) and the National Governing Body concerned, in addition to our assessment of the local conditions.
In the event of any cancellation, if it possible to reschedule the event to a different date in the same calendar year then all entries will be automatically transferred to the new date. Deferrals and transfers will be permitted for the rescheduled event.

Where an event cannot be rescheduled, committed contractors will be paid and remaining funds will be offered as partial refunds.
